Based in the renowned Chianti region of Tuscany, Borgo Casa Al Vento is among the few wineries that have taken on the challenge of observing organic production methods, believing that it allows them to maintain the purity and identity of their ingredients and give their oil and wine a unique quality and character. Part of this naturalistic approach includes them handpicking every harvest, with no help from machines – that’s quite a feat in this day and age – so that their products are most definitely imbued with blood, sweat, tears and most importantly passion that has gone into making them. Borgo Casa Al Vento is perhaps best known for its production of the Aria wine, a classic Chianti produced with San Giovese grapes, as well as the Reserve Foho (meaning fire referencing the intense heat of the wine) which is enriched by a small addition of Merlot. Once you’ve checked out their wine cellar and tasted a tipple, you can even stay in their idyllic accommodation of restored stone village houses, complete with spa facilities (they even have a chocolate bath!) and endless views of undulating hills and vineyards, so you can gaze over the green landscape as sit outside your villa. Glass of wine in hand, obviously.
