Owned by the Giachi family for 15 generations, the winery is located in the Italian region of Tuscany, close to the magnificent town of San Gimignano which is famed for its breath-taking architecture and soaring towers, one of which – the Chigi Tower – is also owned by the Giachi family. Producing a wide range of wines, from Chianti Classico to Brunello di Montalcino, Vernaccia di San Gimignano to Super Tuscans from their 4 picturesque, green, rolling vineyards, the Tenuta Torciano Winery places and emphasis on quality, elegance, and originality. And these four aspects are plain to see upon a visit to the winery. There’s a plethora of activities and experiences to choose from, from a classic tour of the vines, barrel room and cellar to cooking classes, tastings preceded by horseback riding and even the opportunity to help them with their truffle hunt during truffle season. After all these fun activities, you can satisfy your appetite by a visit to Tenuta Torciano’s wine cellar-cum-restaurant, where you can enjoy typically Tuscan cuisine – with truffle pasta unsurprisingly taking pride of place on the menu. Or if you prefer eating your dinner high in the sky as opposed to underground, why not head away from the winery and back into the city of San Gimignano to the Chigi tower, where the company also serve delicious, romantic meals (and wine of course!) After all, what better setting to enjoy a sumptuous Tuscan wine tasting and dinner than in a medieval Italian tower?
