Located in the famed Franciacorta area of Lombardy, Ca' del Bosco winery is a key player in the production of Italian sparkling wine, and is a winery that has become synonymous with high quality and excellence. But despite this current high status, Ca’ del Bosco came from humble beginnings. In the mid-60s, Annamaria Clementi bought a small country house called "Ca' del Bosco" in Erbusco. A few years later her husband Maurizio Zanella, returned from a trip to Champagne and was inspired to transform their small house into one of the most modern advanced wineries in the area. His dreams became reality, thanks to hard work and a constant and tireless search for quality, and today the Ca’ del Bosco winery owns vineyards in an impressive 8 different municipalities of Franciacorta. Whilst Maurizio’s dream was mainly about modernization, the vineyards still maintain some traditional features, as old pergola planted systems are interspersed with more modern and productive plants, making this a very diverse, interesting winery to visit. They are also unique, as their wine cellar isn’t just home to their aging wines in the final stages of production, but also an area dedicated to art and sculpture, as Maurizio believed that by uniting enology and art he could create a “magic circle”, and find a continuous source of inspiration. And there must be something to it, as there is no doubt that the wines Ca’ del Bosco produces – from their famous Cuvée Prestige to their Chardonnay – are packed full of inspiration and creativity.
