How do I know the value of a wine when I am looking at the label?

It's tough because the label of itself means nothing. Terrible wines have beautiful lables, while great wines have bad ones. The name on the label is what you should be looking for, and then look for the grape variety.

Thank you for your answer! It is very true that great wines have bad labels. The best way to know the value of a wine is like you said, the name on the label and the grape variety. Best wishes, Claire
